It all started with Hoffer (the bassist). He was driving from North Carolina to California, when he decided he would stop to visit his homie (Jody) in Texas before heading on. Well as luck would have it, his car broke down in Longview,TX. So, to make a short story long, he had no choice, he got a job at a local record and eletronic appliance store and was living out of his broke down saturn in the parking lot. Pretty shitty! He heard about this open mic night at a tripped out pizza joint, and decided he would go check it out. He met these two guys named Kyle and Alex and they talked on and on about music, life, and stuff. After hearing Hoffer play the bass, Alex and Kyle knew they had to start a band with him. So, then one day, Hoffer got tired of living in his broke ass car and he called up Kyle on the telephone and said "damn fool! a brotha needs a place to lay his head down!". Kyle was like "come one man!". So, Hoff moved in and Alex came over, and with tons of practice, lots of writing, and with constant inspiration from bands like Tool, Primus, King Crimson, Faith no more, Zappa, and metal in general, they created a unique style and blend of music.
Now, with East Texas being dominated by Country Music acts and Bullshit Stevie Ray Vaughn Wannabe cover bands (not to say that Stevie's not great but there was only one and it should stay that way), it is without saying that it is hard for a metal/rock band in East Texas to make any name for themselves;however, Remaining Anonymous, being as great as they are, have kicked ass and have proven that even in the depths of a Podunk place like Longview; real music can rise from the shadows of ignorance. booyah!
