I'm a poet, producer and percussionist.
I've been writing poetry since I was about nine years old and I love reading and watching poetry, as well. I am a strong believer in free speech (even when it's used against me) and I greatly appreciate all forms of communication. I've won awards and contests and am currently looking to expand my poetic tastes and exposure by trying to connect to other poets (established or not) on here through this page. This also translates into my rapping as my rap style is highly poetically influenced.
I've been producing (officially) for about three years now but I've been making songs all of my life. I love the process of instrumental selection and execution and enjoy the planning process behind songs and albums. I study all forms of music and try to pay homage to some set traditions while having an open mind to new ideas and concepts. I try to keep something new in my listening rotation but every now and then an artist gets stuck in my head and I have to listen to that person's music whether it's old or not. I have a range of influences that are way to numerous to get into here but if you ask me, I'll tell you.
I have a certain affinity for percussion (as does every human, I believe). I've been playing drums ever since my conception and I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of them. There are so many ways to hit an instrument. Sometimes I think full languages can be developed (and, indeed, if you listen to the consonants of any language you understand how I can see this) through percussion. Some people see the world in colors, or through certain smells, or even feelings. I feel the world through hitting a drum. In everything I do I listen for the rhythm and pattern and add my own to it...at least I try to, lol. But yeah. I dig drums.
My belief system is built around a universal theme of love and life and I readily share both with anyone that wants/needs it (and sometimes with folks who don't want it). In any case the most important thing I want you to know about me is that I love you, without condition or reservation. I would never ask you to change who you are because I love you just as you are. I do, however ask that you KNOW who you are, and if you don't like what you get to know, change THAT. But either way, I love you.
