Sarah Golden is a New-Folk Singer/Songwriter originally from Houston, TX. She has been an active member of Houston's music community since the release of her debut album, "Truth" in 2002, which ultimately led her to becoming a top-ten finalist in the 2003 Kerrville Folk Festival's New-Folk competition.
Golden won "Best Folk/Roots/Country Song" (and received nominations for "Song of the Year" and "Best Song with a Social Message" in the international RightOutTV Music & Video awards for her single, "The One I Love". In 2013, Sarah won Best Country/ Blues/ Adult Contemporary Song with, "Who Gives a Damn" in the RightOutTV Music & Video Awards, and was nominated Best Female Singer in AbOUT Magazine's 2013 F.A.C.E. Awards. In 2012, Sarah competed on Season 2 of NBC's "The Voice", finishing in the top 48 vocalists in the nation on Team Cee Lo. She was also nominated for "Best Folk Artist" in 2012's Houston Press Music Awards and "Best Female LGBT Artist" in AbOUT Magazine's 2012 F.A.C.E. Awards. In 2009, Sarah made it to the top 148 performers on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent”.
Throughout her career, Golden has played alongside such highly regarded Folk artists as Amy Ray (of the Indigo Girls), Susan Gibson, Terri Hendrix, Lloyd Maines, Shake Russell, Trish Murphy and many others.
Sarah's Fall 2012 release of the EP, "Sessions", serves as a precursor to her upcoming sophomore album, which is currently being produced by Houston roots-music icon, Jack Saunders, at White Cat Recordings.
