My name is Alex Villanueva, and I'm 16 years old and I reside in Cumberland, Rhode Island. I go by the stage name "Indefinite" because it means "Going on for an undetermined amount of time." I didn't wanna send a message that I'm a fall-off, or that I'll be rapping forever, so I chose the middle.
I would really love to make a career out of music. It has been very difficult to come across something that I'm passionate about in life, and I finally found my passion. Rapping. I make this music because I love it, not to get fans (though they're nice) or money (though thats nice, too).
When It comes to my style and influences, I'm not really influenced by any specific rappers as much as I am just by the genre itself. I was born in the midst of it's evolution and watching it grow up at the same time as I did really helped me relate. If I had to pick influences, though, I would have to pick Common for his lyrical straightforwardness, Tupac for his message, Ice Cube for his relaxed, chill composure, Eminem for his ability to be both funny and serious, and Immortal Technique for not holding back and saying what he thinks no matter what anyone else says or who tries to stop him. None of them really directly influenced my style, and I'd like to think that mine is of unique nature, but the above listed rappers pretty much helped my parents raise me, so to speak.
I started rapping a year ago, after becoming discouraged with my inability to play guitar and sing simultaneously, while noticing still that my lyrics were decent. One day I was reviewing said lyrics to this song I wrote, frustrated, and a Where'd You Go by Fort Minor came on the radio. I looked over my song while listening to the radio. The epiphany that followed resulted in my first song "What I Like About The Snow". Ever since then, I just never stopped and don't plan to.
-Sincerely, Alex Villanueva a.k.a Indefinite.
