Having studied with John Scofield, Peter Bernstein, and Brad Shepik, Jordan Klemons is a New York jazz guitarist and composer with one foot planted firmly in the jazz tradition and the other foot kicking down the door for a modern interpretation of the music. With influences ranging from bop and swing to blues, fusion, funk, afrobeat and more, he seamlessly intertwines his life experiences into each piece of music without ever letting it feel forced or contrived.
Having performed with Alan Ferber, Jeff Coffin, Rich Perry, Dave Pietro, Billy Drewes, and Kobie Watkins, and having toured with two bands, Klemons has performed at notable venues and festivals all over the country including two sets at Bonnaroo, Joshua Tree Music Festival, a TEDx conference in 2011, the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, and multiple performances at the Blue Note in NYC.
Along with a handful of recordings that Klemons worked on as a sideman, he also released his debut album, 'New Road,' with his trio in 2012. He is currently working towards a follow up recording which will feature a 9-piece band.
