Emerging from the primordial sonic ooze in Texas circa 2005, CHRISTOPHER ELSKEN emerged as WIZARD BOOTS. Since then he has roamed the country, forming various backing bands and releasing an independent record along the way. Based in Portland OR since 2008, the lineup solidified with multi-instrumentalists Gerald Lunn and Andi Nix. This trio version set out in 2009 on the barnstorming Boots Up Yr America U.S. Tour. New drummer Tony Aparacio joined the group shortly after. Truly an independent unit, the band's unique approach to everything and constant avoidance of music business chicanery has thus far kept them a relative obscurity. In the spring of 2010, Lunn was let go and the remaining trio forged ahead to release a second album, "Ole' Biscuit Barrel!" the following September on their own Invisible Grizzly Agenda label. In the wake of it's release, mastering engineer Peter "Rabbit" Herres joined the band as full time on synthesizer. The band continues it's rampage all over Portland's local music scene, it's middle finger flying in the face of all that is pretentious and fashionable there. Several surprises are on the horizon for 2011 including the recently announced Wizard Boots vs. Everything U.S. Tour kicking off in late March.
