The Blues are a religion and Brian "Husky" Burnette sho nuff preaches it. You can feel the testimony as he blends Delta and Hill Country Blues with Rock n Roll. His music is gritty, soulful, low-down and dirty.
Hailing from Tennessee, Brian Burnette, better known as Husky, has followed in his family's footsteps, writing, recording and touring for a living. Over the years Burnette has toured with such greats as Roger Alan Wade, Hank Williams III, The GD Gallows and more. He's also shared the stage with many others such as Leon Russell, T-Model Ford, Kenny Brown, Guy Clark, Emmylou Harris, Shooter Jennings, Scott H. Biram and J.J. Grey & Mofro.
Husky signed with the Rusty Knuckles record label in 2013 and released his second LP Tales From East End Blvd. the same year. The album featured guest appearances from Shooter Jennings and JB Beverley as well as Grammy nominees Billy Don Burns and Aaron Rodgers, among others. Upon release in August, Tales From East End Blvd. spent 23 weeks as a featured album on iTunes as well as New Releases Now and many more. A single of the classic hymn Amazing Grace followed in 2014 and in late 2015 the Tales From East End Blvd Deluxe Edition was released. In February 2016 we saw his follow-up LP for the Rusty Knuckles label, Ain't Nothin' But A Revival!, that featured Andy Gibson (Hank Williams III), Col JD Wilkes (Legendary Shack Shakers) and more. Husky and his band toured the album for the majority of 2016 while also finding time to finish a collaborative album, Shake, Rattle & Roll, with Sweet GA Brown and Tomcat Hughes, released in December.
Some of Husky’s main influences include Jimi Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Leon Russell, Lee Michaels, R.L. Burnside, Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, Rolling Stones, Black Crowes and Bill Withers.
