If you cross the lyrical honesty and relatable storytelling of Bob Dylan, the soulful sentimentality of Neko Case, the foot-stomping groove of The Band, and an eclectic musical style along the lines of Wilco, you get The Marietta James. Emery and Fuller, who previously played together in bands based out of Atlanta, GA, formed the roots of the group. In 2005 the band made the move out west to Los Angeles where they added Jorgensen, Nunez and Young to the mix to complete the lineup. The Marietta James released their first EP in December 2009, and are currently working on their first full length album due out in 2011. They are also successfully composing music for television commercials, and have played numerous Los Angeles venues.
