Artist Biography - Tom Wilson

Tom was born and raised in Bremerton, across the water from Seattle, and had the great fortune of meeting up with future Emmy Award winning Singer/Songwriter/Musician Jeff Tassin

The two friends started writing songs together in the early sixties during the British Invasion, while still in High School, Tom and Jeff teamed up with Rick Belyea on drums and Singer/Songwriters, Bill and John Carter to form the Spindle.

Early home recordings with Jeff's dad, Harold Tassin at the controls landed the Spindle a recording contract with Jerden Records http://www.historylink.org/index.cfm?DisplayPage=output.cfm&file_id=8441 in Seattle, along with acts such as ‘The Bards', Jeff Afton and the Sonics, Springfield Flute' and George Washington and the Cherry Bombs. The Spindle enjoyed the success of a couple single releases, most notably with a song called, ‘Little Lies', written by Jeff Tassin, John Carter and Tom Wilson. These original recordings have been recently released on two separate CDs...

The song, "Little Lies" (song #26) is available on: The Northwest Battle of the Bands, Volume 2.

According to Green Mountain Records - Underground Seattle Rock:
http://www.greenmonkeyrecords.com/wordpress/archive_aotm_June_2012_Jerden_02.php

"The Spindle provide us with a perfect example of an early branching of the new rock sensibility-and a tune that really shoulda been a hit! The band's classic "Little Lies" explores a sort of middle path somewhere between Beatles-influenced pop and an exuberant folk-rock akin to San Francisco pioneers, the Beau Brummels. Charming stuff."
