Composer and multi instrumentalist Bickley Rivera brings a fresh taste of Caribbean flair to the contemporary scene with a unique instrument – the tenor steelpans. Blending the seductive tropical vibe of her primary instrument with harmonies and guitar , percussion, and world instruments the Tampa Bay based artist runs the stylistic gamut from pop to jazz funk to Brazilian to reggae. Blending the sounds for a one of a kind experience, Bickley has mastered the arts of chillout, Nu-jazz and Roots.
Now LAUNCHED is her new Reggae album entitled "Positive Vibez", a culmination of original songs and 2 covers that draw upon both island and smooth-jazz indie artists contributions. "I wanted this to have the tone of the underground Indie market and the overall theme of the album is about spreading peace and unity throughout the world" says Bickley.
Her 2015 album "Breaking the Mold" boasts an all-star cast Steve Oliver (#1 hit "High Noon"), Spyro Gyro's Tom Schuman, Will Donato, world-known drummer Bonny B, bassist Eddie Reddick, steelpannist Andy Narell and more, with her single "Let's Kick It" climbing to #16 on US Smooth Jazz Charts and #1 three weeks on the KJazz UK chart.
Bickley's 2010 "Chillin’ After Five" album also featured prominent international recording artists, Dutch saxophonist/flutist Praful (#1 hit “Sigh”); Magrus Borges, drummer for bossa nova singer Bebel Gilberto; and renowned saxophonist Ed Calle.
