Life long friends DC Gonzalez and Jonnie Rockit formed Panzie in 2008. Both were born and raised in NYC's Lower East Side. Gonzalez and Rockit both shared a passion for the underground music that downtown NYC was famous for. After playing in several bands together they decided to start a new project, one that could accommodate all of their varied influences which included;Motörhead , Rob Zombie and The Cult. However, the driving principle was that it had to be hard hitting, heavy and dark. From this edict Panzie was born.
In 2010 Panzie released their first self-produced EP titled Trashcan Diaries. Shortly after Trashcan's release, Panzie began playing sold out shows at local and regional venues where they quickly built a strong underground following.
In 2012 Panzie caught the eye of both local NYC music producer Stacy Odell and Wendy Scripps, owner and founder of Wendigo productions in NYC. They then headed into the studio with Odell At Riverfront Studios in Brooklyn NY to record their first full-length album titled Love and Blood which was executive produced by Scripps.
Love and Blood was released in 2013 and was welcomed with stellar reviews and fan approval. After the release of the record, drummer John Servo Di Salvo joined the line-up. Servo is best known for his work in the bands Chem Lab and KMFDM. Throughout 2013 Panzie continued playing shows in support of Love and Blood and began expanding their fan base up and down the East Coast.
In late 2014 Panzie took a short hiatus and returned in 2015 with new front-man Jasin Cadic, a well known NYC Artist, musician and filmmaker. In June 2016 Panzie released their first single with Cadic entitled, Take Off Your Mask which will be included on their upcoming full length album.
Panzie’s live show has become a not-to-be-missed event. Their over the top stage production and genre colliding sound of old school punk, metal, goth rock and industrial has all proven to be tasty recipe and has quickly re-established Panzie as one of the most exciting bands on the NYC hard rock scene.
