Aura Azul / Bio

Aura Azul is a Puerto Rican heavy metal band founded by Hommy. Originally the band was formed in 1993 under the name “Prowler Wraith”. Due to musical difference it was inactive for almost a decade and it came back stronger with a new name.

Aura Azul emerged into the metal scene in 2003,Their influences are great bands like Iron Maiden, Lizzy Borden, Helloween and King Diamond.
With powerful and controversial lyrics,they are inspired by social themes,religious conflicts and life experience

The band has 3 albums Aura Azul(2010),Live at Coliseo de Puerto Rico(2012),both this albums were sold out in Japan, their most recent album Beyond the doors of time was released on March 18th 2013 by Total Steel Records. It received such a great feedback that it was sold out in one day in Japan, all this creates a big precedent for any Metal band from Puerto Rico

The band had shared stage with big name acts like Paul Dianno,Metal Church's Ronny Munroe,Dantesco and Icarus Witch,adding to that Aura Azul was hand picked by Iron Maiden band and management itself to open for them in their Final Frontier World tour in San Juan Puerto Rico

The single "Beyond the doors of time" scored a top 10 charting at #3 and the single Isle of medusa charted #1 winning song of the month at MTVs ourstage top 40, the band charted 10 times in the top 40 bands.

The album "Beyond the doors of time" 2012 had reviews of 19/20, 9/10 from magazines like spirit of metal, the metal review.com and blues inception

The band is always working on new material to continue spread Heavy Metal over the world.
