"Something Fell..." began in the summer 1990 when a group of like-minded friends based in Newburgh, NY & the surrounding area came together & decided to write songs & play acoustic-based music.
The band originally consisted of: Lawrence Roper (piano & vocals), Bryan Lynch (bass guitar & vocals), and Scott Clark, Ron Bath & Rob Johnson (guitars). The following year, Matt DeLuca (drums & percussion) joined the band & Ron left to pursue other opportunities. At times the band supplemented their sound, bringing in Jimmy Alto (guitar) & Joe Bywater (saxophone) for different projects. Between 1990 & 1993, "Something Fell..." produced three independent releases: "Tall Enough To Reach," "Asleep," & "Sojourn." Unfortunately, responsibility came calling & the band members went their separate ways, traveling to different areas for college, bringing an apparent end to the band in late 1993.
Scott started performing again in December 2007 as a solo singer-songwriter with Rob sitting in with him on occasion before finally performing with him again on a regular basis beginning in May 2009 at the 169 Bar (NYC), after which they called themselves "The
Clark-Johnson Trio." In July 2010, something fell into place as Lawrence began performing with Scott & Rob, at which time the three decided to resurrect the "Something Fell..." moniker.
"Something Fell..." is currently comprised of: Scott Clark (guitars, bass, keys, vocals), Rob Johnson (guitars, mandolin, lap steel, vocals) and Lawrence Roper (keys, guitars, drums/percussion).
