Entertainer, Mac McClanahan is currently working with the Bands -- Foster Campbell and Friends as a Saxman/Vocalist/Arranger, The Blue Deacons: Steely Dan Tribute as a Saxman/Editor and Al Garcia and the Rhythm Kings as a Saxman/Vocalist. Mac also performs as a Karaoke Host (KJ) for Redhouse Productions.
Mac McClanahan has been providing entertainment for audiences in intimate to grandstand venues in over 120 cities worldwide since 1976. Mac has served as a Host and Master of Ceremonies for wedding receptions, family reunions, birthday celebrations and stage shows as part of his role providing DJ, Karaoke and Live Music entertainment. Currently, Mac hosts Adventures in Karaoke four days a week and enjoys Front Man duties in two bands.
Mac McClanahan has performed in a variety of settings: from a wedding soloist to a featured vocalist in an award winning Jazz Choir to the lead artist of a cruise ship Show Band. Mac plays solo Tenor Saxophone for events. Mac can provide live band entertainment (duos, jazz groups, dance bands & show bands) and Karaoke/DJ entertainment for all occasions.
Mac McClanahan is also an award winning composer/arranger. With his big band composition/arrangement Immolation City, he earned the Pacific Coast Outstanding Composer Award. His song Sister Long Legs led the R&B horn section band Ain't No Thang to be judged by Don Was, Chrissie Hynd, Bootsy Collins and John Hiatt as a Musician Magazine’s 4th Annual Best Unsigned Band Contest Award winner. Out of almost 2000 international submissions, we were one of only fifteen bands made the final cut. Mac has arranged horn section parts for a television pilot. His horn arrangements can be heard on Erika Nann's Dream On album and Val Lewis's 2nd album, Reflections. Mac has composed and/or arranged music works commissioned by high school and college jazz combos, marching bands, big bands, choirs and jazz choirs. Notables such as Michael Brecker, Ellis Hall, and Bob Shephard have performed his works.
