George de León was born on February 2, 1990 in Humacao, Puerto Rico and started out in music at a very young age. He was 9 when he held a guitar in his arms for the first time. It was his dad, a renowned musician, who taught him his first two chords. After that it was all downhill, basically being self-taught for the first 5 years of his music life.
At 14, he was accepted in a Fine Arts School, where he learned music theory. At 16, he got an oportunity that changed his life for good; track guitars at a local recording studio. From that moment on, he knew that was his calling. That day started his entire career. At 17, he studied a year of music at the Interamerican University. At 18, he studied a year of Music Engineering at CCAT. That same year, a project named Contigo Andrea was born. With two very talented friends they pursued and landed a record deal with a label owned by two industry legends.
The record was supposed to be produced by a famous producer, or so he thought… The label executives liked the demos so much, that it made them decide to let him produce the record instead. Although the group wasn’t as succesful as expected, it did a whole lot more than just hit radio stations. It was basically his business card; it led him to the right ears in the music industry. Since the album came out, he hasn’t stopped working.
George de León has already made room for himself in the industry working with major artists and producers locally and internationally. Here are some of his recent clients: Son by 4 (Latin Grammy Nominated album), CNCO, Jesse Demara, Lourdes Toledo, Carlos Manuelle, Samuel Hernández, Gaby Alicea, Tito El Bambino, Alexis y Fido, Baby Rasta & Gringo, Gocho, Zion y Lennox, Daddy Yankee, Gotay, Chino y Nacho, and the list goes on. You will definetly be hearing a lot more of his work for many years to come…
