Nathaniel / Bio

Brooklyn is arguably the Hip Hop capital of the world, so if you ask anyone to name one Brooklyn rapper they’ll probably name you five, if you ask them to name a singer they’ll probably be at a loss for words. Although, Rap artist have been the dominant source of talent hailing out of Brooklyn, Nathaniel Peterson is forcefully and quickly emerging from these shadows. He is no cliché; he is an RnB singer, songwriter, and producer. Undoubtedly, Nathaniel is showing proof that BK doesn’t breed only great rappers, but great talent period. He has made this point quite evident with the introduction of his first mix tape titled "Born" released on his birthday January 25, 2012, which conceptually illustrates his readiness to be born into the music industry.
Nathaniel's soulful voice, relatable and honest lyrics are providing a unique autobiography and sound for the music industry. He artfully sings his truth, as every experience and conversation becomes a song." What sets me apart is mainly that I deliver my music based off of my story and experience. There's a million and one male artist in the world, but we all have a unique point of view.”

One of seven children raised by a single mom in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene housing projects, it was singing in the church and fine tuning basketball skills which kept Nathaniel grounded. The talent and skill he showed in basketball would make even a Harlem globetrotter envious. However, considering his lack in height and his overwhelming passion for singing, the music was born.

In 2000, Nathaniel made his first pursuit toward singing success in the group “No Identity" which also included his 2 brothers and 2 friends. Later on in 2008, only he and his brothers went forward and made another attempt with the group “Mr. Peterson". While performing as “Mr. Peterson “ the group earned them the Urban Threshold's Underground Music Award for Best Male R&B Group of 2008, one of Nathaniel’s many accolades.

Ultimately, Nathaniel in 2010, made a decision to go solo. Since then his vocals has been featured on the music projects of, Ludacris/I-20 -The Definition, Papoose-Boo’d Up, and DJ Absolute/Acehood /French Montana-Untouchable, just a few of his many collaborations. Additionally, he has been philanthropic by lending his talent to uplift and empower others. He has participated in The Annual Week of People hosted by HUB Entertainment, Newark's campaign to stop the violence; Covenant House's first Annual "Youth Explosion" raising awareness of troubled youth and families; "Cover Up", an event by Silent Voices to increase AIDS awareness and, ME Divas' Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention music series.
