The Lives of the Monster Dogs / Bio

The Lives of the Monster Dogs sound like late nights and cigarettes, honky-tonks and back rooms... secrets and tall tales. Drawing from the deep well of blues and country music tradition of the south, "The Monster Dogs" bring honest music back with powerful vocals, complicated truths, real musicians. This is our story. This is your story... welcome home.

The Lives of the Monster Dogs have worked with producer Don McCollister, of Nickel and Dime Studios, who has been awarded multiple gold records for his talent, and with Dede Vogt, a musician/producer who has been a fixture in the music scene for more than 20 years, performing as a musician in the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" as well as recording and producing the Indigo Girls. In 2010, The Lives of the Monster Dogs competed in a nation-wide contest sponsored by OurStage and placed in the top five, out of thousands of other bands and solo performers. The Lives of the Monster Dogs are part of regular rotation on internet radio stations, "Women of Substance Radio", "Acoustic Roundtable" on WITRR, and WomensRadio.com.

The Lives of the Monster Dogs took their name from a novel by, Kirsten Bakis which is sort-of a modern-day Frankenstein meets The Island of Dr. Moreau, with dogs... she has been known to wear one of our t-shirts on occasion.
