With lyric-driven songs steeped in folk, alt-country and blues, singer-songwriter Matt Spitko combines soulful and dynamic vocals with beautifully written songs and arrangements.
Raised on a classic rock and folk record collection, Spitko’s early influences soon had him reaching for the piano, then a guitar and harmonica. Later influenced by material ranging from contemporary singer-songwriters to Harry Smith’s Anthology of American folk music, Spitko’s unique and accessible songwriting style melds a wide-ranging blend of Americana to find a distinct, listenable voice.
October 2015 marked the release of Spitko’s debut LP 'At Love with War' produced by Barrie Maguire (Amos Lee, Ernie Halter) and Matt Spitko, and engineered by Grammy winner Ian Cross (Usher, Janet Jackson). With features on radio stations like Philadelphia's 88.5 WXPN, Spitko's audience is continuing to grow.
