Jill Sissel (The Paint Sisters) / Bio


Jill Sissel was nominated for Americana Album of the Year by The Just Plain Folks Music Awards.

Liz Ficalora is a National Award First Place Winner of the Maxwell House Coffee "Do It Your Way' Jingle Writing Contest.

Jills awards don't stop there, in 2001 she released her 2nd CD, “Love Knows No Distance” in which The Just Plain Folks Music Awards nominated her for Best Americana Album and Song and continuing on with the release of “Out of Nowhere” in 2003, the song, “Too Soon to Say” was a top finalist in The Just Plain Folks Music Awards in the Best Female Singer/Songwriter category.
Jill has had several song placements in TV and film, including “Murphy’s Law”, a Fountain Head Production.

Liz is a talented Producer and Audio Engineer and co-produced an album project with John Carter Cash. She has done underscoring and composition work that has appeared in the documentary "Preservation Works" by the Massachusetts Historical Society; the movie “Richard II,” director John Farrell; and on the multimedia Desktop Promotion Presentation for the New York Times, demonstrating the rich diversity of this talented artist.

Jill has also opened shows for Dan Seals, Ty England, JoDee Messina, and Tracy Lawrence.
Liz has extensive world touring experience with Stella Parton, Charlie Louven, Jonell Mosser, Walter Egan, Carnival Cruise Line, Grand Rivers Variety Shows and the Calliopes Children Steel Band out of New York.

The Paint Sisters are:

Jill Sissel: Guitar/Harmonica and Fantastic Lead Vocals and all the Pedals that she can control with one foot.

Liz Ficalora: Drums, Djembe, Bongos, All Hand Percussion, Beautiful backup vocals and playing everything at the same time. (she loves dance beats)

Together, with these high levels of experience, The Paint Sisters perform energy-filled original songs with a very diverse selection of rock cover songs that they enjoy performing select covers from Stevie Nicks, Heart, Tom Petty and The Steve Miller Band.

Current Projects The Paint Sisters are pursuing:

Jill is a passionate songwriter and is currently writing more songs for a new album slated for release in the Fall 2016. With Her extensive list of cover material, Jill is currently working with alzheimer's residents and continues to bring joy back into their lives.

Liz is the owner of Easy Drum Chart.com where she has authored and published the book
"How to Write A Fast and Easy Drum Chart," and designed the software, Drum Chart Builder.com, that accompanies the book. She is currently touring and booking master classes at drum stores, colleges and universities all over the US, including SAE, the Nashville Musicians Union, PASIC, MTSU, TSU and Guitar Center.
