De Wayne Martin has been performing as a premier saxophone player since the mid 1990’s. His style of big Tenor Saxophone playing is reminiscent of Grover Washington Jr. and Stanley Turrentine. De Wayne also has an incredible talent for producing, recording and arranging music. Oakland California born, Atlanta Georgia based saxophonist/songwriter and bandleader De Wayne Martin, spawned his career from the horn section of Sirius B, a known Atlanta underground soul group that is well known for producing projects that catapulted India.Arie and soul singer Donnie to major label deals. Martin’s musical experiences have guided him from the Jazz Band of Morehouse College to the pulpits of churches straight into the stratosphere. Some notable recordings for Martin are: Common Ground (Living Remix), Pleasure Island (Transcendental Funk), as well as, the entire Abraham’s Sons CD project . His 2015 recordings, soon to be released, are an infusion of soulful grooves, hip hop funk and spaced out digital sounds that await a loyal “live scene” fan base. De Wayne’s participation in soul music has afforded him the opportunity to have his music licensed throughout the world. Throughout 2014 and 2015, Martin has spent his time producing, recording projects and making spot dates with many popular artists and groups in the R&B, Gospel, Hip-Hop and Soul genre. The list of artists De Wayne Martin has shared the stage with includes; Marcus Miller, Roy Ayers, Tony Toni Tone, Luther Vandross, India Arie, Goapelle, Latoya London and Malcolm Jamal-Warner. Currently, Martin is performing dates throughout the United States as a solo artist and making recording dates as a feature artist.
