For many of us, the concept of playing the saxophone professionally is more difficult than passing a pomegranate through the eye of a sewing needle! Well, the truth is, Dallas native Don Diego makes the process as smooth and painless as a cool breeze on a summer afternoon.
Known throughout the world as a stellar overall musician (he is blessed with not only saxophone skills, he also sings and plays keys as well!), it is his sensational stage shows that delight audiences, both the young and young-at-heart!
It is a combination of his energetic stage-shows and his amazing sax work that has made him a crowd favorite for many years. He has done command performances in Japan, the Middle-east (for the allied forces during Desert Storm) in Bharain and the royal family in Saudia Arabia.
In the last decade, many still remember his cross-over cover hit “It Never Rains In Southern California” (originally performed by Toni Tony Tone`). Don’s version produced a gold record and catapulted his “RAZZ” album to number 26 on the Billboard charts! He has performed with an impressively long list of musicians in almost every genre of music, including the sensational Roy Ayers, Gerald Albright and Kirk Whalum (check out his work with both Gerald Albright and Kirk Whalum on previous projects). Long before he obtained his B.A. in music at TSU, he was already a powerful force on the music scene throughout the country.
Although a very humble and spiritual man, Don’s mission in life has led him to the outer reaches of the globe; from London to Las Vegas, Don Diego has poured out a cornucopia of soulful and sensual arias through the bell of his horn. Take confidence in knowing that your ears and heart will be more than blessed by the radiant rhapsodies of Don Diego.
