Aggressive music is nothing short of polarizing. The mere mention of the words “Metal” or “Hardcore” almost always sparks an opinionated reaction, for better or worse. While this musical divide doesn’t carry the same ethical weight as religion, politics, or any of the countless other issues that split society right down the middle with razor-sharp precision, the same caliber of passion is undoubtedly present. Simply put – you either get it, or you don’t. You either consume aggressive music by the fistfuls, or you can’t stomach it to save your life. The word “impartial” is seldom uttered in this arena. It is simply the labors of 5 men – born, bred and corn-fed in the Midwests’ favorite state of Illiniois – each coming from widely varying musical backgrounds, ranging from Death Metal to 80′s Synth-Pop, and everything in between. However, we all share one common thread – an unwavering passion for all things heavy. Different colors and materials aside, we are undeniably woven from the same musical cloth. The sum of these parts is not some flash in the pan, genre mash-up of Bluegrass and Hardcore for the sake of being different and cutesy. More often than not, what we churn out is ugly, endearing, quirky, and depressing, all in the span of three minutes and thirty seconds. Ultimately, it is demanding, and for whatever reason, it just seems to work.
