For those who haven’t heard 8 Minutes to Burn recently, you are in for a treat! The sound and style has evolved and matured since their 2009 release GIANT MASTER CONTROL KNOB, resulting in a fresh vibe and an invigorated energy. The Band has spent months with Jim Waters at Waterworks Recording, laying down the 9 tracks for this independent release. Featuring popular tracks such as Electric Li-Ion and Feelgood Summertime Blockbuster, GRAVITATE will also bring a few new songs to the canon: Which Way to Go, Love is All Around You and Sunrise Sunset – helping to broaden the scope of the band’s artistry and sound, while reaching out to new audiences with a variety of eclectic tastes.
As the sound has developed over the last 2 years, the Lion has emerged as the 8 Minutes to Burn spirit animal. Recognizing the power and influence the lion has had on their music and energy, the Asiatic Lion was chosen for the album cover to call attention to the fact that even such a majestic animal at the top of the food chain can be pushed to the brink of extinction by the human hand. According to http://www.ourendangeredworld.com/ there are only 411 Asiatic lions left in the world. 8 Minutes to Burn will be using the release of GRAVITATE to promote education and conservation efforts in the Asiatic Lion's only remaining home, the GIR forest in Western India.
8 Minutes to Burn's blend of Southern Guitar riffs by twin Guitarists Randy Clamons and Troy Tuggle, the space traveling Jamtronic sounds of Keyboardist Joshua Chuc, the deep smooth rolling bass lines of Brian Green, the fast paced multi-layered rhythms of drummer Ray Clamons, topped off by the commin' at ya vocals of Lead Singer Kevin Wayne presents a style that may be difficult to describe. Regardless of the lack of words for what they experience, it always comes down to the fact that listeners feel the dance and feel the party when they hear 8 Minutes to Burn's music.
Established in Tucson, Arizona, the town they call home, 8 Minutes to Burn and their music are rapidly gaining recognition throughout the Southwestern U.S. and beyond.
