Todd Wolfe is known for his work with Sheryl Crow (five years as her lead guitarist in the '90's), as well as Carla Olson (The Textones); and Leslie West (Mountain), throughout a stellar career dating back to 1979. Todd has had his songs covered by artists as diverse as Stevie Nicks, Deborah Coleman Larry McCray, Shannon Curfman and country star Faith Hill.
The Todd Wolfe Band recall the days when rock music was a melting pot of rock ’n roll, blues, country R & B and jams which give TWB a bluesadelic sound reminiscent of the best rock and roll bands of the '60s. This band jams and rocks, but their music is deeply soaked in blues. Todd Wolfe, Roger Voss and Justine Gardner have established themselves as one of the most creative and versatile trios by relentless touring and spreading their legend from coast to coast and beyond. Hittin' the Note magazine, “Imagine some power trio mixed into a Texas blues foundation and overlaid with trippy psychedelia ... that’s the essence of Wolfe’s music.” And the essence of the Todd Wolfe Band.
Todd’s ninth album, “Long Road Back” was released this spring in Europe and the U.K. and will be released in North America this fall. On his ninth album Todd is joined again by his current lineup of Roger Voss on drums and backing vocals, Justine Gardner on bass and backing vocals and special guest, Hammond organ wizard John Ginty. John had contributed to the last album by TWB and this time helped write and produce this latest album in it’s entirety. Having gained notoriety as an original member of The Robert Randolph Band, John toured with Jewel, The Dixie Chicks and The Blind Boys of Alabama and has recorded his signature organ sounds on dozens of albums by popular artists. Roger Voss has been with Todd for close to seven years and his powerful pocket drumming gives TWB it’s solid foundation! The young Ms. Gardner has been with the band for close to four years and her deep groove bass playing has been bringing her notoriety among rock, blues and jam crowds. Both add their soulful backing vocals to the mix which gives this band a wider and more soulful sound. This lineup recorded their 2013 release “Miles to Go,” which gained rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic!
The Todd Wolfe Band have just returned from ten weeks of touring in Japan and Europe, nothing unusual for this band and reminds us that the title of their latest album, Long Road Back is appropriate!
