Blue Helix is a Washington State band on the cutting edge of modern rock with a uniquely potent blend of the core genre and its many sub-genres. Authentic in lyrics, and unique in sound, this powerful three piece is Sami Chohfi (guitar/vocals), Juan Carrion (bass), and Noah Phipps (drums). Following the hallowed footsteps of the 90's Grunge movement, their energy derives from the steel-on-steel sparks where rock fights itself for raw dominance - technique locked tooth-in-claw with a fierce need to be apart from the establishment, partly for its own sake and partly to stay just as righteous as it always wanted to be. Yet in the fight to stand out, there is also a struggle to learn and to be understood. In the indomitable spirit of strength that embodies rock, Washington's Blue Helix stand against the darkness and for something much greater. Thriving on the energies and individual personalities of each member, Blue Helix reigns as a tribute both to its members's lives and to their vision.
Blue Helix delivers a high-energy and captivating live performance, always establishing a genuine and strong connection with their audience. The vocalist and guitarist, Sami Chohfi, uses a dual microphone technique to give the audience a unique experience creating two different personalities with his vocal performance. Last July, Blue Helix won the 2015 Battle of the Bands of Washington State at the Muckleshoot Casino. They regularly play gigs all over Washington State, opening for national acts like Saving Abel. Past gigs include shows at venues like the Showbox, the Crocodile, Neumos, the Tractor, the Hard Rock Cafe, Jazzbones and Louie G's. Their latest album Tale of Two Halves presents a unique and eclectic mix of song-writing with a vast range of instruments including acoustic guitars, violins, piano and modern electric guitar sounds.
