It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, music unites peoples. From the sounds on the radio to sounds of the terraces, music forms the soundtrack to our lives. We need music, we need SKA music. Every now again a once in a generation a band comes along, a band that inspires the next one. A band that makes you forget about all that is wrong with world. This band is 2 Rude.
2 Rude were drawn together at the dawn of 2009 following a call to arms by the inimitable Mark Harry after seeing The Selecter live at the Legendary TJ’s in Newport. 2 Rude founder and lead singer Mark Harry knew straightaway that this was where the future lay. The call went out and very quickly the call was answered. Each member of the band came with strengths and a calibre of musicianship that would collectively give rise to incendiary live shows.
Since forming, 2 Rude have spent the last 5 years touring up and down the country, playing sell out shows and making a name as one of the finest live acts in the country.
The band have played and collaborated with the likes Roddy Byers of The Specials, Benji Webbe of ragga metal band Skindred, punk hero Ed Tudor Pole, Hip Hop legends Goldie Lookin Chain along with a string of support slots in 2 Rude and other bands such as; The Selecter, Bad Manners, English Beat.
Born of a collective love for ska music by a group of lads from South Wales, what started out as a simple vision to become the best ska band in the country quickly became a reality. The band have quite simply united dance floors across the country and galvanised support from every background. This band belongs to whoever is present and willing to be immersed in the music; it is a true collective that extends beyond a bunch of lads on the stage.
