The Doctor Bones Project is Victoria’s own blues fusion band, influenced by gospel, rock, funk and jazz. John and Gail Bones formed the band in 2007, to provide music to low income and homeless folks in Victoria. After 6 months of playing together, the band was invited to perform at the 2008 “Back to the Gospel Blues” Festival and has been rolling ever since. It now plays a wide range of venues, paid and unpaid, including the Saanich Fair, summer markets, homeless meal events, prisons (at least once/year), fundraisers, and live music bars and clubs on Vancouver Island. Doctor Bones is John Bones (harp, vocals), Gail Bones (vocals), Alan Bisson (guitar, vocals), Anthony Reynolds (bass, vocals), Jack Funk (drums) and Tony Rodrigues (keys, vocals).
