Funky Daddy is NO LONGER a one-man show where I record my own music in a very low-budget home studio. Back in the fall of 2013 a very talented guitarist/singer/songwriter joined forces with Sam Sanders to do the work of the devil and make Rock 'n Roll music! The fun started in 2009 when a TASCAM digital 8-track found its way to Sammy Sanders's house to join a small group of musical toys. In addition to the TASCAM, Sam uses an Alesis SR-18 drum machine, a 1978 Gibson SG, a Made-in-Japan 1987 Fender Strat, a 2008 Rickenbacker 4003 Bass, a Roland digital piano, and a Roland SH-201 synth, and a Zion with a Floyd Rose whammy bar and active EMG pickups. Sam and Mike perform all the music. The only pre-programmed music is in the drum tracks, and some of the bass tracks. No other looping is used. Sam play keyboards, some guitar and bass, and programs an SR-18 for most drums, except where the digital piano is used for the drums. Mike plays most of the guitar in the new songs we are working on, and does bass and vocals too. It is a lot of fun and also hard work. We have not made any plans to perform live yet, but if we wake up one morning and find ourselves in the top of the charts, we will have to find a drummer and another guitar/bass and perhaps a vocalist. We really hope you all like the tunes. They are all free to stream and sometimes we make them free to download too. Thank you all for stopping by and checking out our page!
