Most of us are writers. A few of us are drunks. All of us are friends. The Late Greats formed from of a group that met each other at West Chester University in writing classes ages ago. We were always a band. We just didn't have any songs. Now we do.
We’ve got a two electric guitar attack, some Peavey amps and a Marshall stack, a hammer that swings and a drummer who sings. We hail from Philadelphia, Upper Darby, Media, and Allentown. This machine runs on whiskey and cranberry juice.
We’re the sound of 1976 filtered through the summer of 96. A gang of voices shouted out to you from a tin can telephone. We were bored when Craig Finn didn’t have a band. Now we know you can’t hold the hand of a rock n roll man.
Our average age is 32. We're not cool. We're not trending. And yeah, we're probably too old to be starting this shit. There's nothing about this on paper that should work, so for now we’re content with making it up as we go along.
We’re halfway gone. We’re barely there.
Here’s to all the bands that never make it.
Here’s to all the kids that care.
