The Hosts / Bio

With its genesis in weekend singalongs and songwriting sessions in the living room of divorced roommates Greg and Melissa Host, the couple soon they began recruiting bandmates to record and perform the material whose catalyst was divorce and separation. The ensuing agglomeration known as 'The Hosts,' slowly grew into a 5 piece outfit made distinctive by the classic sounds of vintage instruments coupled with modern electronica, unpolished yet elegant m/f harmonies, jangly pop tunes and guileless confessional lyrics. The Hosts have played in several clubs and festivals around the Detroit area and have been featured in dozens of podcasts, radio shows and even had one of their songs in a low budget Hollywood film. With the addition of a new guitar and bass player in 2011, the Hosts changed their name to The Sugar Clouds and have been in the process of writing and recording new material with hopes for the release of a new record in 2013. Please have a look at their Sugar Clouds pages as well.

We are now operating under the name: The Sugar Clouds.
