Winner of the "Restore the Music Festival "2014 "Best Pop/Rock Album award. "Ghost Town" is the first record from this hard working Florida quartet. The diverse songwriting is a testament to the flourishing mix of musical styles and lyricism present today in the Deep South. Music that survives multiple listening with clever twists of genre and rhythm. You will hear everything from a radio friendly pop song to a deep track album adult album alternative introspective. No formula here, just the band performing what they love with the inherent freedom that comes from releasing and self producing an indie album.Throw a Saxophone on top of a driving groove and you have the clean, stripped down WHW sound! A bit Talking Heads, Sting, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and the Black Keys and you get the idea.. WHW is Robin Lewis (Guitar, Vocals), Steve Bailey (Bass, Vocals), Bill "Mr. Bill" Winborne (Saxophone) and Scott "Scottie Man" Wachsman (Drums).
Ghost Town was recorded at KDS studios in Orlando Florida, the same studio of 'N Sync and pop impresario Lou Pearlman fame. The place still resonates with the upbeat pop sounds made famous there. The engineering work was overseen by the keen ears of Dave Mikeal who is also the studio manager. Dave is an outstanding multi-instrumentalist and contributed keyboard parts on select songs. You can hear his keyboard work on. "Let You Go", "Empty Room" and "So Lonely". The band was also honored to have Shadow Pearson of "The Actomatics" contribute keys on "On Its Side" and "Ghost Town" and backing vocals on "Empty Room" and "On Its Side". We had a lot of fun recording and producing this album and hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed the recording experience.
