Dirt Road Angels / Bio

From the dirt road to the main stage, the Dirt Road Angels are creating a buzz! The seasoned singer songwriters, Shawna Lynne, Dahlia Wakefield, Karen Claypool, Danita Lynn, and Shila Marie, formed the group in 2013 and have released two albums – a 15-song compilation CD in September 2013 and their newest EP called “Paint The Town Red” in September 2014. They released their second single “Paint The Town Red” to Canadian Country Radio in July 2015, following their debut single “Back Around The Mountain” and lyric video in March 2015.

The Dirt Road Angels have recently been nominated for ACMA Group of the Year. Their song “Memories” was a finalist in the 2014 International Acoustic Music Awards and the Calgary Folkfest Songwriting contest. This hard-working female country rock quintet from Edmonton has played over 100 dates since their inception, with 50 dates alone during their 2015 summer tour.

Showcasing at CCMA week and other high profile events, the Dirt Road Angels have enjoyed opening for top country acts including Kira Isabella, High Valley, Doc Walker, The Road Hammers, Colin Raye, Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin and more. Their enthusiasm, charisma and camaraderie onstage is contagious, their harmonies truly angelic. They’re a team and their future is as bright as their red lipstick.

With a bright 2016, the Dirt Road Angels are going to kick up more than just some dirt ... these estrogen-infused gals will be painting YOUR town red!
