On his new single, “Far Be It From Me,” Saint Woods takes on with a unique vivid tenderness the duality, the battle and intrigue of fighting against a secular world while being spiritually-minded. In such verbose lyrical stealth Saint Woods is such a unique artist in his presentation of two worlds colliding and that is a true testament to the history he’s lived and the life he musically continues to claim.
Saint Woods is from Columbus, Ohio and was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky. At an early age he began creating music and it became apparent that he possessed a special talent, a gift.
In 2008, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in numerous countries including Afghanistan. He soon decided after deployment to concentrate on his passion to make music. Under the name Zillionaire, his album Airness was created and released within a month and it also enjoyed remarkable success. While recording his follow up album, the STARSTRUCK era, he experienced a sudden epiphany. He heard God call to him and upon that encounter he decided to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. That was only part of it. With the sole obligation to the calling on his life to pursue the Word of God, he severed his ties with music, quit rapping and removed anything in his social media presence tied to it.
In March of 2013 while fasting and attending Rhema, Saint Woods felt God once again speaking into his life. He felt that God was telling him to use his gift of music or that he would lose it. Moved to obey, he took it upon himself to finance and build his own recording studio and immediately began crafting his own Christian rap album which soon became, Doves & Honey. Suddenly the album pushed Saint Woods into the spotlight. Doves & Honey received critical acclaim and in 2014, Saint Woods was nominated for an Ohio Hip Hop Award in the category of best Holy Hip Hop Artist.
Currently working on his second album Far Be It From Me, the new single under the same name is garnering appeal on iTunes and Google Play.
While he continues to perform in various outlets, this year will be an exciting year for Saint Woods, whose new album Far Be It From Me is slated to be released in March.
