Dixie Jade / Bio

When the captivating vocal blend of lead singer Andrea Crisalli and lead guitarist Dominique Ruiz came together, the country duo, Dixie Jade, made their presence known. Based in Nashville, they are currently in the studio recording their debut EP. Both passionate songwriters, Andrea and Dominique are set to share their life experiences through their own evocative brand of country music that combines contemporary urban country style with its more traditional roots.

Andrea has been drawn to country music all her life, inspired by legendary female country music performers who have shaped the genre over five decades including Patsy Cline, Martina McBride, and Reba McEntire. These women solidified Andrea’s love and devotion to country music, and molded her powerhouse vocals. With over a decade of study that included everything from opera to musical theatre, Andrea created her own exuberant style that conveys romance, humor, energy and grit to her work.

Dominique Ruiz found her true musical passion when her parents bought her an electric guitar at the age of 11. From that point on she devoted her time extensively to music, perfecting her skills on rock classics such as Jimmy Page’s iconic opening to Stairway to Heaven. Dominique ultimately found her true home in country music, emulating the guitar work of her heroes, which included the legendary Albert Lee and Nashville great Chet Atkins.

Andrea and Dominique first met at the University of Southern California. During their college career, Dominique was busy playing her originals on the Santa Monica Promenade and performing in bands on the Sunset Strip. At the same time Andrea was appearing in music videos, live band shows and other stage productions. Soon after, they followed their calling to Nashville where they reconnected on a fateful night at the Bluebird Café and began performing together.

Since that time, Dixie Jade has played countless shows in Nashville, been a weekly featured artist at up-and-coming songwriters’ spot, You’re Mother’s Bar and Grill, and placed second in the national competition American Country Star in 2012. Stay tuned for the release of their debut EP and more to come from these talented women.
