Dallas TX based Alt Rock power trio Vannah Red is fronted by guitarist/vocalist Harrison Stringer, bass/backing vocals provided by Sam Thornton, and drums handled by Megan Garcia. Norman Matthew (singer/guitarist for metal rock band Murder FM, music producer, and owner of The Sound Foundation Dallas music school) has acted as both friend and mentor to the band since its origin in 2013. Vannah Red draws its influences from gifted musical artists such as Deftones, The Cure, Crossfade, Kyuss, Deaf Haven, Queens of the Stoneage, A Perfect Circle, Bauhaus, and TOOL. Melding these influences with their own creative artistry, Vannah Red crafts music that induces audiences to feel their passion, move to the sounds, and crave more once the last notes have been played.
Their songs have been heard across the airwaves of Dallas Based 97.1 The Eagle and El Paso based 95.5 KLAQ in the form of "Wrong" , "The River", and most recently "Only Shame". Vannah Red has had past performances at the Dallas Observer Artopia Festival and the Deep Ellum Art Festival. They have been graced with the opportunity to share the stage with artists such as Heartist, Hurt, Smile Empty Soul, Stitched Up Heart, and Murder FM. In 2013, at the ages of only 16, the band released its debut self titled full length album. After a short hiatus this was followed up in 2016 with the release of the single "Only Shame".
Drummer Megan Garcia joined original founding members Harrison Stringer and Sam Thornton in 2016 filling the void left by the "Spinal Tap" type demise of their previous drummer. With their lineup replete, Vannah Red flying high on renewed and promising currents, is very active playing live local venues, collaborating on new music for their upcoming EP project, and working exhaustively and steadily to earn and expand their fan base. Vannah Red doesn't offer up gimmicks, costumes, or theatrics. What they do offer up is 110% of themselves to reach out through their music and performance to give music fans what they truly deserve!
