About the Show:

Our goal is to unite humanity through positive expressions of the human spirit by combining Martial Arts, Jazz/Funk Music, Breakdancing, and Video Projection into a family friendly show that is a Celebration of Sonic and Physical Movement. We utilize cutting edge Video Artistry, a top notch 7 piece Jazz/Funk Band, incredibly athletic Breakdancers, and extraordinary Martial Artists ranging from Taekwondo to Wushu to showcase the similarities of human creative expression through these four different art forms simultaneously. Eventually this show will tour the world featuring local Breakdancers and Kung-Fu artists celebrating the similarities of our different cultures and facilitating true cultural exchange.

Kung-fu/Kungfu or Gung fu/Gongfu is a Chinese term referring to any study, learning, or practice that requires patience, energy, and time to complete. That's the whole point of my show. Saxophone Kung-Fu, Breakdance Kung-Fu, Keyboard Kung-Fu, Capoiera Kung-Fu, Electric Bass Kung-Fu. It's all a similar process of learning, patience, and unrelenting energy. I've truly done my best to combine my life experiences thus far to create the most solid A.D.D. fueled interactive entertainment possible. It's back to back tunes with video segues by Bruce Lee speaking about creativity, human potential and the study of craft. You know, really beautiful and positive stuff....

About the Composer:

Sean Nowell is a tenor saxophonist, composer, and recording artist steeped in the traditions of blues, gospel, jazz and funk. He's toured the world as the musical director for Bond Street Theater performing humanitarian outreach / conflict resolution theater and has collaborated with dancers, actors, painters, stilt walkers, and acrobats on tours of China, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bosnia, Serbia, Romania, Turkey, France, Germany, Hungary, Holland, Belgium, Colombia, Venezuela, Singapore and the United States. He's participated in helping unite clashing religious and ethnic groups through music and theater in Kosovo and toured as an Artistic Ambassador for the US State Department in Turkey. By exchanging social and artistic ideas with local artists, by learning the folk music of the regions, and then by incorporating the authentic experience into his compositional and improvisational style, his goal is to cross social and political boarders to spread goodness, truth, and brotherhood through Jazz Music.
