THE GRAY, The mix of black and white, the matter between your ears or the hair color of aging musicians, Its your call. The Gray is the combined force of five musicians. Many whom have been around their local music scene for many years. With influences like, Dokken, Slayer, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Kyng, Ratt, Blue Oyster Cult, Kill Devil Hill, Trivium, The Grateful Dead, and many others throughout the years. When bands say they just want to play what influences them, then the song writing of the Gray is point taken, from Tommy Ryan's southern metal influences to Cary Becker's old school metal guitar riffs. The Gray will force you to remember the days of your youth or the New days ahead.
The Gray's members were not selected from a Craigslist add, but rather from face to face, "get to know you" sessions. Being able to to work together as a group of friends is as important to the band as its music.Taking a year to put the band together is a testimonial to this fact. With Tommy Ryan's Southern rock/metal vocal influences, Cary Becker's old school guitar hooks, Chris Herrick's guitar love of all things metal, Jason Vannoy's super freak bass lines and phenomenal backing vocals, and with Robbie Jenkin's addition to the band with his phenomenal drumming, the line up is complete and ready to rock !!!
With promises to the growing fans. The band found it hard to connect with the right drummer. After a year and many drummers trying to fill the back seat. The band could wait no more. The first three shows were a big success. Packing in more than 300 fans per show. Bursting from the gate with a nitro injection.
