Roy Merlino / Bio

Ever since I started playing the trumpet when I was 5 years old I've been into music. I played in the kick-ass jazz band at Rio Americano High in Sacramento (had to be in the marching band in order to play in the jazz band) under Craig Fanniani. We toured Europe and played the Paradiso in France. I was hooked. Since then I've played in various bands all over the California. My current regular gig is "lead-singer/front-man" in Mother Mayhem. It's an alterntative rock, funk, classic rock cover band that I founded with my buddies a few years ago. We're sort of half-assing an attempt at an original project called Six Ways to Sunday (I've written a song by the same name) and I've been writing music for other artists of various genre. I currently get off on folk-rock type stuff and symphonic metal (a freind of mine turned me on to this). Symph-metal is big in Europe. The big Symph-metal bands over there fill stadiums. Then they come here and play at the Boardwalk (that must be wierd for them). Hope you dig my stuff!
