Nate Strasser, 26, began the study of piano at age four. Over the
years, Nate has received additional training in the areas of
composition, cello, organ, and songwriting. Nate was selected to
perform at the International Music Workshops in Scotland at the age of
8 and in Austria at the age of 10. At age 19, he was awarded a full
scholarship to Arizona State University where he double majored in classical and jazz piano performance. Nate finished his degree in jazz studies at West Virginia University. Nate has performed as a soloist with the Wheeling Symphony, Washington Symphonic Orchestra, and on the main
stage at the Heritage Port BluesFest.
In 2009, Nate Strasser moved to Nashville, TN upon his graduation from West Virginia Univeristy and has since worked as a studio musician, songwriter, and arranger. Nate has recorded at the famous Oceanway Studios, Warner Brothers Studios, Quonset Hut Studios, among others and performed at the Bluebird Cafe, 12th and Porter, and the Listening Room. He has had a song signed by Universal Music Publishing and has performed with Grammy-winning artists Riders in the Sky and Brent Mason. In November, Nate released his debut CD entitled Confluence. Featured musicians on this album include Gabe Dixon, Laura Mayo from American Idol, and Kerry Marx, the longtime staff-guitarist for the Grand Ole Opry.
Nate was one of only twenty applicants from eight different countries to be accepted into the prestigious Scoring For Motion Pictures and Television graduate program at University of Southern California in Los Angeles for the 2013-2014 school year.
