Raised in the backwoods of Louisiana, Jen Friend has been making music ever since she was young. She credits her parents with being her first musical influences - her mother, classically trained, introduced her to the guitar and piano and everything from Ave Maria to Kris Kristofferson, and her father got her listening to lots of blues and rock & roll. Even before Jen was old enough to drive, she was making trips up to Nashville, recording demos, singing backup vocals, and performing at places like The Wilson County Fair and the famous Bluebird Cafe.
Fresh out of high school, Jen moved to Nashville out of a deep love for music that she shares with so many others from around the world that call Music City USA home. Before Nashville, she was playing and singing primarily traditional country and bluegrass, but since her move she has really branched out and has developed her own unique style and sound.
Jen has traveled the world - from Canada to Singapore and all across America - performing with legends such as Charlie Daniels, Johnny Hiland, LeAnn Rimes, Andy Griggs, Jimmy Hall, Tommy Crain, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany and many more, and also appeared as a backup vocalist on television shows such as Good Morning America and The View.
Today she’s staying busy performing live shows with her band, writing new music, and recording backup vocals for demo sessions in Nashville and beyond. She also has a brand new live album in the works - capturing the magic and raw emotion of Jen Friend’s live show - release date to be announced.
