Whitney Wattenbarger is 22 years old and has been born and raised in Bakersfield, California. Her debut album, “Just Getting Started” is newly released after a full year of hard work and dedication. She can’t thank her friends and family enough for all of their support. She feels truly blessed to be able to follow her dreams. Whitney’s family knew from the time she was a very young child that she was destined to be a singer.
When Whitney was 5 years old she could emulate the whole song “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion in French. That was when her parents realized their daughter was extremely talented.
She truly discovered her passion for singing and the art of music at the age of 10 when she sang amazing grace for one of her friends who immediately recognized her gift for singing. From there she knew music would be her life. She signed up for choir and got her first solo at the age of 12.
LeAnn Rimes and Shania Twain were Whitney’s first musical inspirations; she sang their songs constantly. By the age of 15 she knew her heart was truly with country music.
When she was 17 years old Whitney was chosen to sing the national anthem for all of her high school’s events. The same year she auditioned to sing at the Buck Owen’s Crystal Palace and was selected to perform with the Stamede Band, the House Band at the Crystal Palace. She was asked back numerous times to perform there.
By the age of 19 Whitney knew she was ready to seriously pursue a career in the music industry. With her family wholeheartedly supporting her she enlisted a vocal coach to fully concentrate on her singing. From there she met her producer, Bob Bender who has over 30 years of experience in the music industry, and has worked with multiple country artists such as: Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, Smokin Armadillos, Tommy Cash and LeAnne Rimes. Since her partnership with Bob, Whitney has booked a number of high profile events including performances with Bryan White, Mark Wills, Pam Tillis and most recently opening for Darius Rucker. Whitney performed with Bryan White at the 2012 CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee and has earned a spot performing a set of songs from her new album at the 2013 CMA Music Festival.
Whitney Wattenbarger’s debut album is captivating with upbeat tracks such as, “Boyfriend Stealer” that empowers women, to the very soft and sweet song, “Honey” that captures the blissful feelings of falling in love. The track “Just Getting Started” is the name of Whitney’s first album and really describes the beginning of her journey in the country music industry.
