Emily is a singer/songwriter and entertainer who combines a soothing blend of acoustic folk and indie styles with a unique passion and love for creativity.
Emily grew up in the Chicagoland area as a self-taught guitarist and vocalist by watching other local musicians at the age of 13 while in middle school. Over time, she hung out at the Fatbean and Greenleaf Coffee House where she played open mic every Friday night. She recorded her first CD at the age of 18 and has recently completed her EP with a planned release of August 2013.
Emily’s influences span a wide range of talent, including, Ani DiFranco, Iron & Wine, Laura Marling and her favorite singer/songwriter, talented Kevin Prchal.
Emily performs as a solo artist and also with her band that includes drums and keys with Emily on guitar. She was discovered at an open mic by Rae Records owner Robert Henk. Having listened to her play and having her attend various open mic nights throughout the Chicagoland area Robert knew she was something special. “I have been to hundreds of open mic nights and never heard an artist take the stage and have every musician and patron stop talking and listen to an artist perform three songs before, it was amazing ."
She just recently signed with Rae Records & Entertainment with producer JR Henk and plans to perform across the Chicago area and U.S..
