Dana Stuart is a singer-songwriter and female recording artist from St. Joseph MO. She was a lifelong dancer, model and was in an award-winning movie before graduating from MWSU with her degree in social work. While Dana played piano for many years, it wasn't until a series of personal hardships that she turned to music and discovered her sultry soulful vocals and quickly advancing songwriting skills in rock, alternative and adult contemporary. She has been writing and performing ever since.
In 2011 Dana began performing throughout the Midwest. She opened for Bugsy Maugh (Janis Joplin’s bass player) for his induction into the Missouri Music Hall of Fame and performed at the 9th Annual Songwriter’s Festival on Music Row, which included performances at the Red Rooster, Dan McGuinness’s and Picks. Dana co-wrote “Bring Her Home” (The Holly Bobo Song) with Nashville artists Jenn Bostic and Heather Cohen and she worked with Dave Plummer (Limp Bizkit’s producer) at Cypress Records to record “The Wolf Cry” for a lupus awareness compilation album.
By 2012 Dana had a lengthy song catalog with BMI. She worked with Producer Buddy Hyatt, former touring member of the 80’s rock band “Toto,” and Tammy Pierce, backup vocalist for legendary country singer, Kenny Rogers, at the Tracking Room Studio in Nashville, to produce her debut album. She also ranked #7 at the Bud Light Battle of the Bands.
In 2013 Dana performed at Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville where she received interest from several labels. She was featured on LA Talk Live, a live radio talk show and has been featured in DGT Magazine, various blogs and alternative newspapers.
In 2014 Dana performed with local classic rock cover band, Midnight Express. She became engaged to the lead guitarist “Buzz” Ozenberger. However, her engagement with Buzz and her involvement with the band were cut short when Buzz died unexpectedly.
Dana has since moved to Tennessee to resume her solo performances, singing everything from secular to spiritual and was recently on the set of ABC series "Nashville." Dana has been compared to Carol King, Adele, Lady Gaga, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, and Pat Benatar. For more information contact call 816 261 2395.
