~ Rev. Cameron Errea spent years developing his signature "Swamp Metal" sound before finally starting BLACK WATER SOUL in 2011.
"The music that pumps me up; energizes me; makes my head nod, is Metal/Rock. The music that makes me feel at home; think of good memories; sends chills down my spine, is Southern Rock/Country. I'm trying to combine all that. Thick, mean, Metal guitars playing groove-heavy Southern Rock riffs." ~ Errea
BWS had the privilege of recording their EP in the personal studio of fellow Bakersfield Metal band Korn (studio originally built and owned by Country legend Buck Owens). Things looked promising for BWS. Then in December 2012, in a move that defies all logic and common sense, the band fired Cameron; it's founding member; the source of the band's sound, style, and identity; and main songwriter for the majority of the EP. To this day, they have not given a legitimate reason for his termination, opting instead to tell blatant and random lies.
~ But the Reverend has dusted himself off and is back with his latest creation, KERN RIVER CRUDE! If you liked the Southern-Fried side of BWS, then you'll dig KERN RIVER CRUDE! ~ \,,/ ~
~ (YES, he is a real reverend/ordained minister. But NO, he is not religious and does not "believe.")
