The corridor was dark and long...dark, long and grimey. The dark stopped Al and Dr. Eschaton from seeing what was in front of them, but they had hope. Hope that there were others in here, trapped perpetually in this winter thoroughfare, stumbling forwards in search of Door 777. Seeking out only the light of campfires on summer nights, music and the power to spread the word of love, unity and turbo-charged, tonic wine. Finally a light tore from the crack in the door frame, leaving scars of bright white across the floor, as a group assembled outside.
"There's no such thing as coincidence!" said the Magician.
This motley crew contained; vocalists from the Pharos court, poets from the east and west, musicians with histories in such bands as Big Fat Panda, Bombskare ,Some Boy, Punto the Feef and Monkeytribe, plus... some obligatory riff raff from the gutters of Scotland's streets. With music in the air they booted the door in and together ran freely into the sunshine! From that day on they would share music, hope and good times with the world! They be known as the POSB...
"Part of Something Beautiful" you ask?
Well yes, but we prefer to call it The Post Orgasmic Sunshine Band.
East meets West in this Glasgow/Edinburgh collective of musicians, containing some well known faces from the Scottish live music scene. Forged from the collaborative heart of late night jamming sessions at festivals such as Wickerman and Knockengorroch, the merry band of brothers and sisters known as The Post Orgasmic Sunshine Band combine an enthralling live performance with strong melodies and powerful, evocative lyrics.
With tunes rooted in a familiar, pulsating, reggae, dub groove The POSB lift you out of the ordinary with their own distinctive flavours of contemporary Celt, and just a hint of Scottish ska. Add in lush three part vocal harmonies accompanied by a saxophone and clarinet wind section, and the infectious enthusiasm of this energetic ten piece will have you bouncing from first to last. The only question? More please!
