The infamous, inflaming redhead, Justine Jones is best known for her tenor saxophone prowess, she also plays flute, piano, and is a vocalist and composer having studied at the VCA Melbourne and The Sweelink Conservatorium in Amsterdam. Although she is well known in the jazz scene, her forays into rock n roll include performing on The Living End’s latest release “State of Emergency”, and appearing in Fred Negro’s music video “Beer Sandwich”,

Justine has also worked as a freelance music copyist for film and TV and assisted Paul Grabowsky in the establishment of Australian Art Orchestra for the recording “Ringing the Bell Backwards”. She has made two recordings of her original music with the ABC and has played on numerous albums for others. Her highly successful jazz radio show “Groovoire” aired on PBS FM for 5 years and she hosted “Radio Mama” on 3CR for 4 years. Last year she produced and presented a 6 part TV show, “The Jazz Show”, broadcast on Channel 31,which was nominated for 3 Antenna Awards in 2009. She presented and produced “Night Owl Jazz” every Monday night/Tuesday Mornings from 12am-2am on 103.5 MBS FM for 3 years

Justine has toured in Europe, the US and nationally throughout Australia including playing at the Tsunami benefit at The Myer Music Bowl. Some of the bands Justine has played with include The Interzone Trio, LUC, The Big One, Kenny Lopez's Sex Mambo, Judy Baily, Marie Gabrielle, Fabulous Diva with Ruth Rogers Wright, Andrea Keller, Sally Boyden, The Sure shot Hunters, The Vagrants, The Andrew Nolte Orchestra and The Dizzys Big Band. In 2011 she produced an album of her vocal originals “Transversing” with Daniel Gassin
Justine produced and presented “The Jazz Show “ with Mark Fitzgibbon, a six episode TV show about the Jazz scene in Melbourne broadcast on Channel 31 in Melbourne Australia
Over the years Justine has maintained her band in the guise of The Nointers, Flesh,The International Playboys of Rhythm, Black Label, and now the Justine Jones q tet who play an exotic array of her originals. Justine also composes for film and TV.
Justine has also appeared in feature films including, The Jammed, 6 Lovers, The Cup and, I love you too, and TV shows, Wilfred(SBS), Hawke (CH 9), Neighbors (CH 10), Winners and Losers (CH 7),and The Phyrnne Fisher mysteries (ABC)
