The dynamic R&B/ NeoSoul act, “DC Lovechild” fuses an eclectic home brew of funk, jazz, hip hop and smooth R&B flavor sure to delight the most finicky of palates. Front-man D. Christopher Taylor was just a youth at the time of his 1st major release. He developed his vocal chops working throughout Europe as a backing vocalist and studio singer before the birth of his melodic lovechild. Christopher arrived in Europe as a child of a military family and eventually began to seek refuge in recording studios around Frankfurt Germany. Local DJs like club legend Heinz Felber began to experiment with the youngsters raw vocals. Before long he was gracing Frankfurt’s top 40 club charts with acts like The Stereo MCs, Shabba Ranks, Mary J. Blige and Arrested Development. The first single released on the Independent Supreme Label made enough of a splash in Great Britain to hook the singer’s interest in furthering the development of his craft.
Christopher leaped into the international spotlight as the featured singer on the first internationally released album of RCA act “Sweetbox”. The album was released under the title “Sweetbox” in Europe and Asia, and “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” in North America. The album reached double platinum and triple gold status in Japan, and garnered the act two Japanese Grammies for “Best International Act” and “Best Song of the Year”. The album was released in 47 countries and sold nearly three million copies. Christopher went on to write and record for Warner Bros. and EMI. He’s been fortunate to work with producers and musicians of international acts like Ace of Base, Culture Beat, Loose Ends, Montel Jordan and Snap among others. Euro-Rap.com lists him as, “one of Eurorap’s absolute best singers”. Now he's all grown up and eager to share his new R&B/ NeoSoul project and rebirth as “DC Lovechild”.
