No one ever became a songwriter or a musician on someone’s good advice. That never stopped Andy. He’s done plenty of ill-advised things, and he’s here to tell you all about them in song.
Andy Ard prefers songs to genres, which takes his music on some twisty paths. His feet are planted in the energetic pop rock of his heroes The Kinks, The Beatles and Elvis Costello, but his Atlanta roots reveal funky, twangy, and even classical influences. David Barbe of Sugar described him as having the gift of melody. Ard's sharp, vibrant original songs garnered a Westword Award nomination in 2001 for best singer-songwriter, and more recently he was featured in Eric Shiveley's music documentary, "Everyone But You".
In February 2010, Andy placed 4th in the Durango Songwriting Contest for "Wonderful".
