Keely has been performing in Musical Theatre since age 6, so there is no doubt that she has a natural presence and charisma when she is on the stage. Her love of music is what fueled her interest in learning to play an instrument,so her Dad bought her a guitar on her 10th birthday. It took awhile for Keely to sit down and learn to play her guitar, because she was also playing the Cello in local symphonies and performing in regional Musical Theatre. When she was 18, she started a life changing and nearly fatal battle with Anorexia Nervosa that would last 8 long years, but would also push her to write some of her most personal and lyrically impressive songs while she made her way in and out of 3 treatment centers.
Keely has said over and over again that music is what saved her life, and through her songs, she shares with her listeners her whole heart and soul, playing them tunes that are introspective, sharp, witty, ethereal and sometimes haunting.
Keely is also a stand up comedian, so besides there always being a joke or two in between sets, someone is likely to yell out a request for her to play her hit song "Minimum Wage Boyfriend."
I think we can all relate to that one.
Come enjoy Keely's music at one of her many upcoming shows!
