With the release of my current project "My Inspiration is JEALOUSY" The leak, I have been receiveing massive feedback from local artist as well as national ones. Good, bad and ugly feedback allows me to keep going and doing something that I love to do and that is entertain the ones around me. M.I.I.J. is something I feel everyone could relate too because there is always a hater out there that's going to try and rain on your parade but that's why we got umbrellas!
Born in Los Angeles, raised out of Inglewood, my 3 younger brothers and I were brought up by my eldest aunt and my Grandmother for a year or so of my adolescence. While living with my grandmother, my cousin grabbed a pen and a pad and wrote my brother after me and I's first two bars and I fell in love with rhyming. Writing since 5, I've mastered my way craft often by writing poems and excelling in creative writing assignments in school. Aside from trying to strive academically, I constantly battle the influence of the streets in high school as I rode long city transit rides from Compton, CA to Inglewood, CA back to Compton daily just to feel comfortable with friends I grew up with in elementary school. With my trials and tribulations of a teen in the streets of LA, my mother moved the whole family to northern California to Sacramento to give us a chance in life without violence or crime. Continuing to being that example for my brothers, it wasn't until moving to Sacramento in the summer of '04 the anger and frustration from moving so far from my birthplace caused me to get into some trouble at and away from school. A friend and a counselor suggest that I expelled all the feelings any 15yr old in my shoes can have out on paper.
They both suggest to keep writing and I never stopped.
My mom suggest that I should keep writing so I haven't stopped.
And now, with SNATCH'N GWAP and help from The Kru, FALLOUT Gang and other California undeground artist, I am more compelled than ever to exhibit why "My Inspiration is JEALOUSY"
Y.T. aka Yearning for Truth is myself as a grown man, what I've learned in the past that helps me pave my future.
Y.T aka Yung Tilt has been my alias since high school, mainly because my temper made it seem as if I wasn't balanced up stairs so to say, but also from friend's funny way of saying why I'm always frowning. Thus bringing Yung Thug into the mix.
Y.T. aka Young and Talented is a trademark to my first passion into writing and that was poetry. Being able to figuratively tell a story that can captivate the reader's attention.
With the soon to be released collaboration project "West Coast Devastation" with one of Sacramento's young talents Tyree "Ree Realz" Forrest, who also produced it, you can hopefully see my versatility and that there is a mass amount of talent that needs to receive it's credit in the West, and Ree Realz feels the same way and uses jealousy and envy as a fuel and inspiration to continue telling his story.
I am far from the finish line, but when I get there, I would like to be remembered by the path I take the last mile of the way.
